Description
In terms of the shape of the vase, Westerners are outwardly open, wide at the top and narrow at the bottom (left side), while Easterners are thick and thin, narrow at the top and wide at the bottom (right side). Instead of taking both (e.g., Western wide mouth plus Eastern narrow bottom) to form a complete unmarked vase, Hirst allows East and West to be independent, presenting them as left and right respectively. Cross-cultural understanding and respect is the most important feature of this vase, and our answer to globalization.
